Mji huo ulitekwa na vikosi kufuatia siku kadhaa za kuushambulia kwa makombora. Kwa mujibu wa maofisa wa jeshi a Pakistan askari watatu na wapiganaji wanne wa Taliban imearifiwa waliuawa katika mapigano ya usiku.
Mji wa Kotkai, ndiko ambako kiongozi wa ngazi ya juu wa Taliban Hakimullah Mehsud, umeshuhudia mapigano makali tangu Pakistan ianze kampeni yake ya kushambulia Waziristan ya kusini wik iliyopita.
